Will be replacing the season long pot of years past. We wanted to shake things up a bit and reward consistent catches and particiaption over the season of the Paddle-Fishing.Com Tournament Series (PFTS). I think this does just that. As in the past we will start an "Angler of the Year Award" thread where you will post and update your catches as the season progresses. Let me know if you have any questions concerning the change and how it will work.

The new "Angler of the Year Award" will work as follows and will replace the season long pot from prior years.

At each event you get one point for each inch of your longest redfish, trout and snook. You get to enter only one of each of the three species per event. Plus, you get 10 bonus points for each event you enter. As each event goes by, you'll add the points and bonus points to your running total. At the end of the series, the angler with the largest running total wins the season long event.

Example:

PFTS 1: 25 inch redfish, 16 inch trout, no snook = 41 inches of fish plus 10 bonus inches for entering = 51 total points

PFTS 2: 27 inch redfish, 12 inch trout, 24 inch snook - 63 inches of fish plus 10 bonus inches for entering = 73 points. Add the previous 51 points for a running total of 124

PFTS 3: Didn't enter. Running total of 124.

PFTS 4: Entered but caught no fish. 10 bonus inches for entry. 134 is new running total.

PFTS 5: 30 inch redfish, 28 inch trout, 40 inch snook = 98 inches of fish plus 10 bonus points = 108 points. Add the previous running total of 134 for a final running total of 242 points.

We made some changes to the Angler of the Year Award after discussion with all the anglers at the pic-n-sip. If you want out let me know, no problem. I will post full details of the changes. I hope we only made it better.

Also-going forward, if you do not show up to the pic-n-sip you do not get your ten points!

Please measure to the nearest 1/4 inch. Remember you are being judged by your peers to stretching the truth will not get you very far.
