I'm getting one tomorrow..........Happy B-day to me. I will now have something to help get me unlost when I'm in the everglades.

Good choice, as it is an accurate unit. I have a similar one and a Lowrance which is inferior to the Garmin.

Have a good birthday.

My first GARMIN GPS76 no map. Next GARMIN GPSmap76 still no color, Love them both.
I did find that you need to zoom in to 20' to 80' to follow your return track where you started.

If you wish PM me and set up a phone call i don't type.

I have heard very good things about the 76Cx and that's a great price. Does it come loaded with the Garmin Blue Charts?

I have one, and love it.

Just a little bit of advice, take yourself a good chart and compass when going to the Everglades. While a GPS is a good idea, those screens are small and sometimes hard to read. Get very familar with it before hand, make sure you understand how to use the "Route" function. That way you can back track your trail. Why the chart? If it fails on the water you wont have a clue as to where you are. At least with a compass and chart you cna figure out which way to go.
