Saltwater Baitcaster

I'm ready to purchase a saltwater baitcaster and was wondering what others are using and would recommend?

The fish dont care what you reel them in with! buy what you can afford, or go to Dick's and get one of there 29.99 - 59.99 ones. Good line, good lures = lots of fish!
Besides, you probably got fish just jumpin in that cool kayak you got!

They are great for working shorelines, you can stop the lure on a dime by stopping the spool with your thumb!

My normal kayak arsenal consists of 2 Calcutta baitcasters and 2 spinning rods.
I always use a baitcaster for topwater, and the other is usually rigged with a spoon. The spinning rods are used for soft plastics.
I've used the Calcuttas for 10+ years with no problems, they're not the lightest, but they're pretty much bulletproof.
The small 100 series is perfect for inshore action. To keep them spinning free, clean the spool bearings occationally with acetone & lubricate with 1-2 drops of RemOil.

You can do the exact same thing with a spinning reel.
