If today was a ladyfish tournament...

Post by Rik »

I'd have kicked butt! Have never seen so many of them. Acres of boiling ladyfish coming in waves. Caught one so big it pulled drag several times.

Other then that, it was a beautiful morning for a paddle......

Now you know what I was talking about when I said marauding ladyfish. By the way, I caught my 3 snook Thursday right were you caught that 30 inch beauty.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

Other than the ladies, it was dead. No movement, no birds diving, no mullet jumping. Kinda odd.

Man...I thought I had the ladyfish tourney covered. I thought I was on a red (it didn't come out of the water for a bit), then a snook on the head shakes; when it got airborne I was like "Holy crap that's a big lady fish." (and a lot of poo if I bring her out of the water).

She pulled drag out 3 times...that's my "personal best" - I'll go with 24". woo hoo...

Tampa water was, as the say on ESPN - "El Fuego". I'll post photos/report later.

What kind of camera you use Heywood? Your pics always turn out pretty good.

Thanks.

Nikon D50 70-300mm VR lens

I'm out of practice, missed some good shots this weekend.

Camera settings were off, so all the whites got blown out.

Did manage a one good one though.
