PFTS #3 - Pic n' Sip - Fish Fry
Posted: Tue Nov 19, 2013 12:31 pm
As you've read, we're going to have an old fashioned fish fry after this next event. MarkR - you've seen his posts in the food sections that make you ask yourself "how do I get an invite to his house for dinner?" - will be in charge of the cooking. He has volunteered for this so I hope all of you will show your appreciation.
Anglers are not required to bring fish back. However, it is hard to have a fish fry without fish. We'd like to open this Pic n Sip to members of the site who did not fish the event so we'll need some cooperation - and fish catching! - from those that do. If you catch a flounder and want to bring it back for the fish fry, please do. Catching should be the easy part with the Logic Lures you are given to fish with.
Two rules about fish - THEY MUST BE LEGAL (within size and bag limits) and NO SNOOK
It will be BYOB. It will be pick up your own trash. It will be filet your own fish (unless we have someone who really loves to do it).
If anyone would like to bring a side dish to go along with the fish, please do. If several people would like to do so, even better.
We can go the "bring your own plates and utensils" route or if several would like to pitch in and bring a big pile of paper plates and plastic forks we could go that route. I prefer the bring my own route so I'll bring a sturdy plate and a real fork that I can wash off and create less trash. But that's my opinion, you're allowed to have your own.
Bringing a chair is probably a good idea.
There is plenty of parking available on both sides of Manatee Ave (please don't get run over crossing the road), there are rest rooms, fresh water to wash fish stink off your hands.
Please ask any questions you may have. Please offer any suggestions you may have. Please offer any help you can give.
