Heading to the Flats Tomorrow Morning

Post by Manning »

I have not been flats fishing in almost 2 months now. Not because I have not had the time, but because I have been concentrating on tarpon fishing. All I have to show for the tarpon fishing is 1 fish jumped this year. Now that sounds discouraging I know, but I would be headed right back to the beach tomorrow to try it again if it weren't for all the west wind we have been having. The gulf is just too rough right now. I know this is not usually a great time of year to be flats fishing, but I also know I will love my time out there fish or no fish. Wish me luck.
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

I saw several Tarpon rolling along the flats at Honeymoon Island. They are just outside the no motor zone.
