Weekend report

Post by fishnfinatic »

I have been kayaking for a while now and I decided to purchase a boat to spend more time with my son and wife on the water. I took both of them out to Weedon on thurs to fool around with some trout to keep them occupied. We manage to catch a couple small trouts and my son caught his first puffer. I manage to get out today with my uncle (Mark) and cousin (Todd) in laws to break in the boat. We started off the morning with a couple of dink snook and trout. As the tide starting going out we moved to another area with some deep sand pockets. The very first cast whamo nice red on 24", then couple cast later 29" red on. There was a very large school of reds out there today. When the bite slowed down we did some trout fishing to end the day with two of us getting a inshore slam. This was Todd's first time fishing inshore and all caught on arties. Im glad I was able to put him on his first red, snook and trout he was the happiest person in the world.

She's a beauty, Shawn and your son is a real cutie.

I saw a boat just like that at Fort D a few months ago. Very nice boat and great catching today. Congratulations on all accounts!

Hey great pics Shawn and that boy of yours stole your rod and reel I see. I like the pic of that trout,it has the red eye from the camera. That makes it look mean. Congrats on the new boat and it looks better in the water then on the trailer.
